Earthquakes have been well researched; we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. We just want to produce a cheap, reliable device that can monitor earthquakes. Due to our target price, we hope to increase coverage of earthquake warnings and predictions. This is especially beneficial to countries that can’t afford more expensive solutions as well as those who want a cheap, redundant network of earthquake sensors. This device is most useful for geographic locations that are prone to frequent or strong earthquakes.
We are also investigating how we can use this device to monitor, prepare for, and respond to volcanos, tsunamis, and landslides.
