The purpose of the project is to assist the stakeholders in the chinampas, by creating a market to assist producers in building an equitable future for them and their community. An enterprise will be established as an intermediate between the consumer and the supplier, chinampas farmers. It will partner them to purchase their produce at a fixed market price giving incentive for farmers to yield high returns while guaranteeing a price. This will create a competitive advantage for the region which the enterprise will assist in exploiting the full potential to promote economic development in the region. The enterprise will take charge of the distribution of the produce. The enterprise has as objective to reinvest in the community to help producers increase their yields, curve risk-aversive behaviour, and promote sustainable practices. Through the same means, the enterprise ensures a stable, reliable, and sustainable supply chain.
